‘It was a great night with great people,’ Meitheal 21 thank Thurles Care for their huge donation

The Tipperary Star spoke to Meitheal 21 Co-Chair Angela Corcoran following the presentation of the cheque from Thurles Care.
Angela said that the €10,000 donated to them from the Golf Classic means so much to the organisation.

“That is a savage amount of money to get because we rely solely on fundraisers and local fundraisers.

“We have no direct funding from the government, only small grants, and we are not always successful in those grants either. €10,000 is unbelievable for us. Everyone was delighted and shocked with that amount of money,” said Angela.

Meitheal 21 members were invited to the Golf Classic and following event and had the best time.She said they enjoyed meeting everyone, especially the members of Thurles Care who organised the event.

“We had such a fantastic night, and we are really grateful. It was a great night with great people, and we danced all night long.

“And all our members danced happy out. Its great for them to get ouit for the night as well.

“And Thurles Care were there, and it was lovely to meet them all. It is great for your members to see our children singing and dancing and having fun,” said Angela.

Angela said the money will go toward events and activities for members of Meitheal 21 and thanked everyone who made the event possible.

“We really appreciate it girls, I swear. We loved meeting ye. We had such a lovely day with good people. It was fantastic," said Angela.
