Clonmel Rowing Club's Daire Lynch who has qualified for the Olympics in Paris next July

Clonmel Rowing Club's Daire Lynch has this morning qualified for the Paris Olympics at the Senior World Rowing Championships in Belgrade.

Combining with Olympian Philip Doyle (Enniskillen and Belfast), the Irish pair are through to the final in the men’s heavyweight double scull event following their second place finish to Croatia in the semi-final this morning. Qualification for the final has ensured them a boat in the Olympics Games.

Earlier in the week the pair came through two rounds to reach this morning's semi-final.

It will be a debut appearance for the Clonmel Rowing Club member at the Olympics to be staged in the French capital next July. A dream come true after years of dedication for Daire.
