Councillor Andy Moloney has welcomed the funding towards bridge repairs in Cahir.
The bridges have been surveyed as a result of constant pressure from the local councillor and the findings have shown that both bridges are in need of immediate repair.
These works will commence in the coming week and will have minimum disruption to the public as most of the work will be done from a pontoon in the river.
There may be some pedestrian inconvenience but not too much. The years of flooding and consequent gathered debris have removed some of the protector stones and there is need of some pointing also.
Cllr Moloney said that as Cahir is the crossroads of Munster and is serviced by only one bridge we need to have these works completed as soon as possible.
Cllr Moloney also informs us that in the event of any traffic management needed it will be kept to a minimum and avoid school times.
Any trucks using the town to the get to the factory should use the bypass as much as possible in the coming weeks to avoid delays.
