Planning permission for retirement village in this Tipperary town has been refused

The council's decision may be appealed to An Bord Pleanála

Tipperary County Council has refused planning permission for the construction of a proposed retirement village in Clonmel.

The planning application, submitted by Gerard Norris, sought permission for the construction of a retirement village at Glenconnor, Clonmel, with 50 residential units, consisting of 28 two-bed units, 22 one-bed units and one facility building.

The construction of all roads, footpaths, underground services, public open space and public lighting was included in the proposed development.

The application also sought permission for connection to the existing foul sewer network, and the existing surface water drainage network.
All associated site boundary and site development works, including the partial demolition of the existing boundary wall to create a new pedestrian and vehicular entrance from Glenview Close, Ballingarrane, are also included in the plans.
An appeal against the council's decision may be made to An Bord Pleanála.
