The Abbey School will run a Golf Classic on September 19 and 20 in Tipperary Golf Club, with the aim of raising much-needed funds to improve IT infrastructure in the school.
In the past, previous golf classics have been used to aid in the development of school facilities such as their new PE Hall and state-of-the-art astroturf.
The Golf Classic, which has become a regular event in recent years, should bring in the resources to help with school infrastructure.
The Abbey school principal, David Sadleir, is appealing to past pupils, local businesses and sports clubs to support the Classic by entering teams or by sponsoring a tee box.
Teams of four are required and the cost is €200 per team, and a meal is included following participation.
Businesses or individuals can make donations and/or sponsor a tee box for €50.
With recent improvements to the school that include a soon-to-open centre for students with an ASD diagnosis, refurbished science labs & toilet block, and new astroturf pitch, the school has an impressive track record in improving and developing facilities.
A launch event was held on Friday, August 23 in the Abbey School.
Anyone wishing to enter a team or sponsor a tee box, should contact Seán at 086 067 3271 or the Abbey at 062 52299 for further information.
