While Tipperary may have been hit with a beautiful blanket of snow, it is not without chaos as the bitter weather conditions have forced schools, businesses, and some local links to shut down, as well as causing carnage on the roads, with cars being backed-up and trees collapsing.

Several businesses across the county have announced their closures this morning, January 6, including the Junction Gastro Bar and Guesthouse in Ballykisteen, with the owner MJ taking to social media to say, "If anyone needs any help or assistance just ask, if I can help, I will."

Also affected by the adverse weather conditions was Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel, which has confirmed that all outpatient appointments due to take place today have been cancelled.

Busy Bees, a childcare service located in Clonmel has urged people via social media to "stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel", confirming their closure for the day, taking into account the health and safety of their staff, families, and the children who attend the pre-school, morning service, and homework club.

Other closures include the Dwan Academy, Donal T Ryan Solicitors, Moran's menswear, and the County Tipperary Citizens Information service.

Transport services are also up in arms in this now Status Yellow weather warning.

Transport for Ireland's local link in Tipperary cancelled all services on Sunday, January 5, and are going to "attempt to commence" the 855 Tipperary town to Cashel service at 11:40am from Limerick Junction.

This news comes after scary scenes in the county yesterday which saw Junction 7 of the M8 in Cashel completely blocked Southbound due to a crash which saw 16 cars stranded for sometime.

The main advice given for those residing in Tipperary is to stay home, and only travel when necessary.
