Bridge in local Tipperary village set to receive €80,000 in renovation funding

The Ballygriffin Bridge in Golden has been granted funding under the Government's road funding allocation.

The total amount of funding set to be allocated to the bridge is €80,000.

Speaking on the announcement, Councillor Declan Burgess said: "I am delighted to confirm €80,000 in funding for bridge rehabilitation to Ballygriffin Bridge in Golden under the Governments recent roads funding allocation.

"This safety scheme’s aim is to implement remedial measures to improve the overall safety of this road network and upgrade the bridge infrastructure, benefiting all road user.

"I want to thank the Municipal District staff for the support and cooperation on progressing this application. Residents and road users in this community have spoken to me in recent years about seeking road improvements and safety upgrades to Ballygriffin bridge and I am happy to see this happening."
