There was a joyous atmosphere around the town of Thurles, Tipperary this St Patrick’s Day, when the parade started in the town centre. The Thurles St Patrick’s Day parade started off at the JYSK car park in the town and made its way down to Liberty Square.
Special guests of the parade were Alan & Frank Roche of Frank Roche & Sons Hardware Thurles. Families and locals were delighted to see the talents that the town has to offer take part in this year's parade.
Jim of The Mills' traditional musicians played some traditional Irish tunes to start the day off, with many spectators stopping in awe of the musicians. Groups taking part in the parade were varied with music, dancing and gymnastics, sports clubs, martial art displays, vintage cars and tractors to name a few.

Cloughjordan Circus Club took part in the parade, displaying their circus skills while walking on stilts.
The Thurles Men’s Shed showcased their latest project at the parade, a beautiful triangular wooden shelf. ‘Mo Chara’ animal rescue walked through the parade with a huge Irish Wolfhound leading the pack.
Thurles Musical Society advertised their new show, Hot Mikado, which will take place in the Premiere Hall, Thurles from March 25 until March 29. The Diarmuid O’Hurley Pipe Band received many cheers, as did the Sean Tracy Pipe Band.

Spectators had the opportunity to witness the young Thurles Taekwondo Club show off their talents. The students performed their Taekwondo skills in front of the curious parade goers.
The Clonoulty Rossmore Vintage Club showed off their many vintage cars and tractors at the parade, with many onlookers amazed at the vehicles' amazing conditions given their age.
The DWAN Academy also took part in the parade, the academy provides classes in drama, singing and dance for children in Tipperary. The atmosphere was electric throughout the parade, well done to all the clubs and groups that took part this year
