Teenage boy in serious condition in hospital after assault in Tipperary Town

Gardaí are seeking witnesses following an alleged assault on a teenage boy in Tipperary Town shortly before 11pm last night (Thursday). 

The injured boy was found with serious head injuries at Lakelands, Tipperary Town at 10.50pm. He was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital where his condition is described as "critical". 

A juvenile male has been arrested and is currently being detained at Tipperary Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Tipperary Garda Station on 062 80670. "We would ask anyone who was in the Lakelands/Roseanna Road areas of Tipperary Town between 10pm and 11pm to contact us," said a Garda spokesman.
