Updated: armed raid on Service Station in Cahir, Co. Tipperary

Gardaí in Cahir are investigating an armed raid on a Service Station in the town on Sunday night (December 10th).

It’s understood two armed raiders entered the premises on the Cashel road in Cahir shortly after 10.30pm, terrifying a young male employee who was working behind the counter. Both men had their heads covered. One man was estimated to be 6 foot tall, the other around 5ft 10”.


A Garda spokesman said both men were carrying handguns.


The Raiders made off with a “substantial” quantity of cash from the Shop Safe. No one was injured in the incident, and no shots were fired.
