Comeragh College Community School's student population has increased by about 40% since it moved to its new state-of-the art campus on the Pill Road in Carrick-on-Suir last year.
That's according to Comeragh College Principal Kevin Langton, who along with the school's teaching staff and students hosted an open night for 6th class students from primary schools in its catchment area on Thursday, November 30.
Mr Langton reported that the number of students attending Comeragh College has risen from 250 to 350 since April, 2016 and the school is expecting another bumper enrolment of first year students in September next year.
He said the school has had to put a limit of 92 first years it will be able to enrol for the 2018/2019 academic year and encouraged parents to submit their student enrolment applications by this Thursday, December 14 to avoid disappointment.
Mr Langton said Comeragh College's open night was a great success and attracted a very large crowd of prospective students and their parents, who listened to presentations given by staff and students and were given tours of the new campus.
