Clonmel's Laura Durkan has been named as the 2018 Tipperary Rose

Laura Durkan has been selected as the 2018 Tipperary Rose to represent the premier county at the annual festival in Tralee this August.

Twenty-six year old Laura Durkan from Glenconnor, Clonmel was selected at a special ceremony in the Anner Hotel in Thurles on Saturday night.

The Glenconnor woman proudly represented the Irish Kidney Association on stage at the Anner Hotel on Saturday night, coinciding with Organ Donor Awareness Week which runs until April 8th.

Ms Durkan, who takes over the mantle from 2017 Rose Sheila Ryan, will now go on to represent Tipperary at the International Rose of Tralee Festival this August.
