Tipperary skincare specialist wins major prize at prestigious Businesswoman of the Year awards

Winner Geraldine Jones with event sponsor Alastair Pardy and Aileen Delaney, Network Ireland, North Tipperary.

A Tipperary woman has taken a top award at the National Businesswoman of the Year Awards.

Geraldine Jones of skincare specialists Mediskin took home the award for Best Small SME, sponsored by Alastair Purdy & Co. Solicitors.

The annual awards celebrate the excellence, professionalism, vision and leadership of business women in Ireland.

This year saw a record number of entries for the awards. Winners were selected at a regional level in the Buisnesswoman of the Year Awards before being put forward as finalists in the overall national awards in their respective categories. Over 200 women from the 15 branches attended the awards ceremony in Galway which was preceded by the Annual Conference earlier that day. 

Irene Twohig, owner of Educogym, Cork won the award for Large SME, sponsored by AIB. Laura Jayne Halton, Couture Designer, won the Arts Award sponsored by Blink Design while the Emerging New Business Award, sponsored by KPMG, went to Caroline Murphy of West Cork Eggs. Laura Maher of Reilly’s Supervalu Sallins was awarded Employee of the Year sponsored by Peter Mark and Best Use of Digital Award, sponsored by Facebook was presented to Caroline Dunlea, Core Optimisation Ltd. 

 The award for Geraldine Jones of Mediskin in Nenagh was a major honour. The owner of  Mediskin, Geraldine, graduated from Pembroke College of Beauty and Body Therapy in 2004. Over the course of her incredibly impressive career, Geraldine has worked in some of the best medi-spas in Ireland, gaining invaluable experience in advanced skincare systems. 

Medical Aesthetics are Geraldine’s main focus in the clinic but she has never lost her holistic touch from her earlier days in medi-spas.

With this in mind she has introduced a whole body approach where clean eating, regular exercise and de-stress techniques play as much a part in promoting skin health as clinical skin treatments.

Geraldine has huge passion for her business and the treatments she offers.

Last year, Geraldine branched out and launched a distribution company, Geraldine Jones Ltd, so that she can provide Irish and International salons with exclusive and high-quality products that otherwise would not be avail
