Clonmel Credit Union secures new away venue through ground sharing partnership with Clonmel Town

Clonmel Credit Union secures new away venue through ground sharing partnership with Clonmel Town

Clonmel Town have entered into a unique ground share arrangement allowing Clonmel Credit Union to use the Sports Complex on the Cashel Road as their designated 'away' location.
If Clonmel Credit Union ever have to suddenly vacate their Parnell Street headquarters they are assured of a "home from home" at Clonmel Town.
The "home and away"arrangement is obviously not for football purposes but itis purely a business agreement that will come into play in the event of a disaster striking the Clonmel Credit Union offices in Parnell Street.

If a flood, a fire , or some other catastrophe strikes Clonmel Credit Union customers will be able to conduct their business as normal at the Dr.Pat O Callaghan sports complex due to the new partnership.
Two Clonmel institutions , the Credit Union and Clonmel Town , have joined forces to enable Clonmel Credit Union carry on business at an alternative location should disaster strike.
The Clonmel Town complex was selected by the Credit Union following a process during which they were obliged to find an alternative premises to conduct business .
"It is standard practice now really",said Paul Davey, Clonmel Credit Unioin manager who said they were very happy to support a sporting organisation like Clonmel Town in the process by upgrading their premises.
Clonmel Credit Union was required to have an alternative site to move into within twenty four hours should their operation in Parnell Street be out of commission.
"We do have offices in Fethard and Mullinahone but we could not ask people to go out there to transact their business. The idea was to have an alternative location that was central in the town, easily accessible with plenty of parking and Clonmel Town is a most suitable location" said Paul Davey.
"Having the alternative in the town allows continuity , the IT cabling necessary for our operation means that the Clonmel Town complex is upgraded and we are very happy to support such a long established sporting organisation in the town by selecting their venue," said Paul Davey.
"It upgrades the Clonmel town facility and provides us with a safety net that in the unlikely event we have to suddenly vacate Parnell Street means we can continue to serve the public uninterupted" said Paul Davey.
Michael Maher, Chairman of Clonmel Town said the partnership was a very important one for the club as it would involve an automatic upgrade of the sports complex in terms of broadband, phone lines and the whole communication structure.
"The club was very pleased to be selected, when you think of all the options the Credit Union had they choose our centre which shows the respect the club is held in," said the Clonmel Town chairman.
"There is excellent parking at the Clonmel Town complex, it is a very central location and it is within very close proximity to a lot of Clonmel Credit Union customers " said Michael Maher.
