On 27th September, Spafield FRC Mens Shed had the official launch of their extended community garden.
The centre invited centre users, funders along with many more that helped out through the venture.
Over the past year the Men's Shed extended and designed this garden to allow for the growing of fruit and vegetable,s herbs ,flowers and an extensive range of crops that can be grown inside their new larger polytunnel which was erected with the help of Men's Shed members and the layout designed by themselves.
The group members also hand made the garden fence, entrance gates and flower boxes from upgraded pallets. The garden was launched by Willie O'Gorman, head gardener, who has dedicated his time and expertise along with the rest of the members to this project over the last number of years.
Spafield FRC Men's Shed has become a vital part of the services on offer in Spafield FRC,
A recent partnership sees Cashel Tidy Towns and the Men's Shed working together on various projects and using the skills on offer within the shed to contribute to various projects and initiatives locally and also recently supporting Cashel Art Festival
It is supported and facilitated by Diana Buckley, community development/family support worker.
