Aherlow House Hotel has announced that Adam Leahy has been appointed as their new General Manager.

Adam is a native of Tipperary Town and has been a valued member of the management team for over 2 years now, assisting the team to consistently provide heartfelt service to all their guests.

Adam has a lot of experience to date in the hotel and hospitality industry and he will bring this wealth of experience to him in his new role. Aherlow House Hotel offers a magnificent view of the Galtee Mountain Range and the Glen of Aherlow.

The old house where Aherlow House Hotel stands, was built circa 1928 by Robert Massey Dawson Saunders. It was to replace the landlord's residence at Ballinacourty House, which was destroyed by fire in 1922 during the Civil War.

In order to get the hotel a bar licence in 1972, the new owners had to have ten bedrooms, the legal minimum to register the property as a hotel. As there were only nine bedrooms in the house, the tenth bedroom was provided for in the lodge, a separate house across from the hotel.

In the 1980s the new wing of the hotel was constructed adding an additional twenty bedrooms. In 1999, to further enhance the hotel and its location, self-catering lodges were erected within the grounds of the hotel.

Tourists who visit the Glen of Aherlow refer to Aherlow House Hotel as an obligatory stop for anyone visiting Ireland.

The hotel is a real gem and the team at Aherlow House Hotel and the Tipperary community wish Adam Leahy every success in looking after the hotel and its guests going forward.
