The six-week session for junior artists begins in Clonmel this Saturday morning
Junior South Tipperary Art Group (STAG), which caters for young artists from nine years up to Leaving Certs, will start a new spring six-week art session on this coming Saturday, April 22, from 10.30am to 12 noon in the art room of the Infant School at Ss Peter and Paul’s Primary School, which may be accessed through the school yard.
There are some vacancies at the moment in both sections; the Primary Group, 9 years to 6th Class pupils, and the Seniors, 1st Year to Leaving Certs. Please book in with the Organiser Maureen Purcell at 086-8096823 as soon as possible.
Adult STAG artists, with some members from Junior STAG, are working on the hoarding at St Anthony’s Unit, off the Glenconnor Road, Clonmel.
Some of the spray-painted hoarding by Niall and artwork by a few of the Seniors, that was around Kickham Barracks last summer, is now in situ on some of the hoarding at St Anthony's Unit.
Apart from that artwork, the group is also working on the large crest for Clonmel Rowing Club, artwork for the Pump House in Goatenbridge and for Slievenamon Golf Club, so everyone is very busy.
They are also hoping to start on a mosaic or two. To this end, if anyone has old costume jewellery, old unwanted decorative china cups etc ordecorative/coloured tiles the group would be delighted to get them.
