Tipperary athlete Courtney McGuire is looking forward to defending her national marathon title

Courtney McGuire will defend her national marathon title, which she won in such spectacular style last year, when she competes in this year’s Irish Life Dublin Marathon.

Speaking at the launch of the event, which will take place on Sunday, October 29, the Clonmel athlete said:

“I didn’t think I was going to win the national title at last year’s Irish Life Dublin Marathon at all. I went in as an underdog and had a great day out.

"It was my first marathon. It was just a brilliant atmosphere, especially the last mile but on every single part of the course there were cheers and everyone rooting for you”.
