Ursuline students show schools spirit in Lip Dub filming

Ursuline Fifth Year students Aoife Bourke, Emilia Fitzgerald and Molly Ryan at the School Council Lip Dub

On Tuesday afternoon May 9, the whole of the Ursuline Secondary School, staff and students, put oodles of energy and enthusiasm into organising and filming a Lip Dub.

The School Council decided it would be a fun and positive thing to do a whole School project that would get everyone involved, get everyone smiling and create some dynamic School spirit in the last term.

Also it was an anniversary of sorts, as it has been a decade since the first Ursuline Lip Dub, which is still available to watch on YouTube and brings back some very happy, nostalgic memories for those who were in the School at the time.

The School Council choose the songs to be mimed, as democratically as possible, getting suggestions from every year group.

In the end the final selection was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, Good Time by Carly Rae Jepson, Adam Young and Owl City and Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. Filming was done by Star Systems, and thanks to them for coming in to do a professional recording.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all year groups who lined the corridors dressed in a variety of accessories, costumes and colours. Everyone is really looking forward to seeing the finished and edited Lip Dub in a couple of weeks before the end of term.
