Tipperary’s 2001 All-Ireland-winning captain and the county's former coach/selector Tommy Dunne will be involved in Cork's club championship this year, having joined Tomás Mulcahy’s Glen Rovers backroom team as coach.

Having had two separate spells as Tipperary senior coach, including the county’s 2019 All-Ireland-winning season, the Toomevara man brings a wealth of sideline experience to a Glen Rovers team that has fallen on hard times.

Following their relegation last September, this is the first time in 99 years that the Blackpool club will not be part of Cork’s premier hurling championship.

49-year-old Dunne's most recent involvement with his own county was in 2022, when he was a selector under manager Colm Bonnar before departing in July of that year.
