Dillon Quirke Foundation jerseys now on sale
Next Sunday afternoon Tipperary take on All-Ireland champions Limerick in a very special senior hurling challenge in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation. It follows on from last year's game against Kilkenny at Thurles in aid of the same cause, and this time around jerseys will be on sale before the big day.
The Dillon Quirke Foundation aims to fund a widespread cardiac screening programme for young people (aged 12-18) involved in sport, and to date they have raised in excess of €935,000 towards this. Ahead of Sundays big clash, Limerick senior hurling captain Declan Hannon said that a limited edition Limerick jersey bearing the charity's logo is on sale for two weeks only. The Tipperary jersey will remain on sale, and both jerseys can be purchased via this link Dillon Quirke Foundation
The following is a from a letter that Dan Quirke sent in relation to the upcoming game against Limerick:
Dear friends of the Tipperary County Board, On behalf of the Dillon Quirke Foundation, I’m delighted to tell you about a very special upcoming hurling match - one you definitely won’t want to miss.
On Sunday January 28th at 2pm in FBD Semple Stadium, Tipperary and Limerick will take to the field for a senior hurling challenge - all in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation.
Tickets, which will be available to purchase online here or at the gate on the day, are €20 for adults and free for under-16s who are accompanied by an adult. All proceeds will go directly towards the Dillon Quirke Foundation’s vital work delivering more life-saving cardiac screenings for young people involved in sport across the country.
Your support of last year’s senior hurling challenge between Tipperary and Kilkenny in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation made a big difference. Thanks to a generous community of supporters like you, over 200 children and young people have already been screened - and that number is growing fast. We’re working towards an ambitious goal of providing free screening for 5,000 young people in 2024. Just imagine the lives that this many screenings will save - the families that will avoid the devastation of losing a loved one to SADS.
We would love to see you show up for Dillon once again. Semple Stadium is where we tragically lost Dillon to SADS in August 2022. But it’s also a pitch on which he played many times - and his shining passion, talent, and love for the game will live on in all of our hearts, and through the life-saving work of the Foundation.
Match Details:
When: Sunday January 28th at 2pm (gates open at 12:30pm)

And there are plenty more ways that you can support the Foundation’s life-saving cardiac screenings - you can make a donation, buy a jersey on our website, or spread the word about the Foundation’s work and the upcoming match amongst your friends and family. All support is greatly appreciated and makes a huge difference. Thank you.
With gratitude, Dan Quirke.
