Former Hurler of the Year helps Tipperary school to provincial hurling title

Former Tipperary All-Ireland winning captain and Hurler of the Year Tommy Dunne has started life strongly in a Tipperary institution as its Head of Hurling with victory in a provincial decider recently.

The Cistercian College Senior hurling team are now North Leinster Senior Hurling Champions for a second year in a row having beaten Clane in Hawkfield, Newbridge last week in the North Leinster Senior Hurling Final in a 0-21 to 0-8 finish.

Hurling at Cistercian College is moving from strength to strength under the coaching of Donie Franks and former Tipperary hurler Tommy Dunne who recently joined Cistercian College as Head Hurling Coach for the 2023 and 2024 season.

It is fair to say that they can look forward to what is to come over the coming months with this young team under superb coaching and expertise.
