A very disappointing evening for the vice-captain who looked off from the very first touch of the game. He was way short of his best and the fact that he allowed Kyle Hayes to block him three times in the opening half was a testament to that.
He got into good positions and had players one-on-one on a few occasions and rather than back himself, he tried to step onto the outside to shoot, which is most unlike him. He needs to perform for Tipperary on Saturday to be considered the new leader of this team.
