Hayes was making his championship debut on Sunday and it couldn’t have been in tougher circumstances.
He actually started the game fairly well, popping off possession for a few early scores but he left a golden goal chance behind him in the middle of the first half that you just have to convert at this level.
All things considered, he was far from the worst on the field in blue and gold.
