The winning Gortnahoe Glengoole team
Last year’s Junior B winners Gortnahoe Glengoole defeated Kiladangan by 2 points on Monday in the shield final of the Junior A League in Tipperary.
Two goals in the opening half from Ciara Gleeson and Leah Bird put Gorthanoe in a commanding position at the break leading 2-07 to 1-04.
It was a great start for Gortnahoe with Ciara Gleeson the driving force in attack while Grace Campion excelled in midfield but Kiladangan never gave up and pushed Gortnahoe all the way in the second half in what was a highly entertaining and well contested game.
Helen Cleere also impressed throughout the hour for the winners while for Kiladangan Emma Gavin was brilliant in midfield.
