Rosegreen are through to the semi-final of the Tipperary Co Op West Junior B Hurling championship following their one point extra time victory over Emly at Nijinsky Park on Sunday.
It took twenty minutes of extra time to separate these two sides in this highly entertaining game, a game in which the sides were level on nine occasions, including at half time when the scores were tied at 0.7 each.

Emly started the livelier and Paul O’Heney got the scoreboard moving inside the opening minute. Conor Bourke then set up Brian Bourke to double their advantage, before Killian Ryan got the home side moving when he was put through by Podge Quinlan.
Ger Cummins was finding his range from placed balls, while Emly were off target both from frees and open play. Two late frees from Conor Bourke and Tom Healy had the sides level at the break, with Rosegreen the happier side, having played against the wind.

The second half continued in the same mould with JP Anglim and Ger Cummins to the fore for the home-side and Brian Bourke coming more into the game for the visitors.
With the sides evenly poised as the game headed towards the final five minutes, Killian Ryan set up Podge Quinlan for the game’s opening goal to give the hone side a five-point advantage. Emly came right back into the game and a goal from Shane Carroll tied the game at 1.16 each.
Four points were exchanged in the four minutes of added time, with the equaliser coming from Conor Bourke to send the tie to extra time.

Extra time was a real test of nerves and stamina, with Conor Bourke and Ger Cummins involved in a shootout. Emly led by two at the break and led by three with two minutes remaining.
Rosegreen staged a big comeback when Diarmuid Quinlan found Ger Cummins with a good pass and the wing forward beat Healy at the far post to tie the game.
With the possibility of the game going to penalties, Karl Geraghty fired over the winner from an acute angle at the road end to send Rosegreen to the semi-final where they will play Eire Og Annacarty.
