Hedgerows Ireland have a photography competition worth entering.
To highlight the importance of native hedgerows in Ireland, Hedgerows Ireland are running a free-to-enter photography competition focused on the ditches or hedges teeming with life.
Hedges provide important nesting sites and food for many wild birds, along with shelter and safe routes for wildlife to travel along, known as wildlife corridors.
Tipperary, which has huge swarths of hedgerows and wildlife havens, has much to offer so Hedgerows Ireland are hoping for a strong response from those in the county.
Hedges also offer numerous benefits to humans including food, natural property boundaries, shelter for crops and livestock, noise reduction, flood mitigation, carbon storage and visual appeal.
Between now and 31st October, they invite you to take a picture which celebrates some aspect of an Irish hedge or ditch during this autumnal period. More details can be found at this link: Hedgerows Ireland website link
