A new grants scheme aimed at householders living in protected structures, was announced at South Tipperary and Cashel Town Councils this week.
The scheme allows for owners/occupiers to apply for grant aid to assist in the carrying out of work for the repair and conservation of protected buildings.
The Council will match a householder’s contribution of between J2,500 and J15,000, to carry out repairs. Up to J282,000 is being made available across Tipperary, with J141k of this going to South Tipp. The scheme aims to boost employment among those skilled in conservation, together with other professionals, craft workers and tradespeople. Applications are now being accepted from interested parties. The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday February 14th at 4.30pm. Further information can be found at the Councils’ websites northtippcoco.ie and southtippcoco.ie or by phoning the planning section of North Tipp County Council (067 44652) or South Tipperary County Council (052 6134646).
