Ironically, this poor Tipperary performance coincided with easily one of O’Mara’s best performances of the league.
He picked up Diarmuid Healy and Shane Barrett at different times during the game and - particularly in defensive situations - he got in flicks, tackles and interventions that have been a problem for him in games this year.
He misused possession a few times in the first half. On one occasion he fired a poor delivery straight into the gleeful hands of Ciaran Joyce who had acres to fire over a long range point. Still, he was one of Tipperary’s better performers on the day.
