Plans to build a long-awaited bypass around Tipperary Town have moved ahead with the release of a third design update for the N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction project.
Tipperary County Council, in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and the Department of Transport, unveiled the latest design aimed at easing chronic traffic congestion in the town.
The proposal includes new streets with active travel features designed to redirect traffic from Main Street. These changes, alongside measures such as signalised junctions and pedestrian crossings, are expected to promote safer travel and make the town centre more appealing to residents and workers.
The upgraded N24 aims to cut travel times and support a more reliable bus link between Limerick and Waterford. It will also enhance access to Limerick Junction Railway Station and a proposed freight and transport hub outlined in the county development plan.
The updated plans are on display at the Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel in Limerick Junction from Tuesday, May 27, and are also available online.
