He underperformed against Galway, but there is every likelihood that Cahill will keep faith with McCarthy, despite talk of perhaps throwing Oisin O'Donoghue in from the start.
McCarthy will be vital for his free-taking alone, and considering he got the man of the match award in the corresponding league fixture while being marked by Tommy Walsh, it might be a game he will flourish once again.
