Norma Foley, Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, said that parents and groups can now apply for €350,000 in Parent and Toddler Group Grants.

This funding can bring new toys, equipment, and books to children, as well as provide snacks and creative activities such as arts, crafts, and music. Parents can also benefit from parenting workshops and children’s first aid classes.

Starting January 15, Parent and Toddler Groups are invited to apply for funding through their local City or County Childcare Committee.

With hundreds of Parent and Toddler Groups active nationwide, the 2026 grants aim to strengthen these connections, welcoming families of every background, ability, and culture to join in and grow together.

Minister Foley stated: “I am delighted to support the remarkable work of Parent and Toddler Groups, which provide valuable opportunities for parents and carers with young children to connect within their communities. These groups are particularly beneficial for new parents and those who have recently moved to an area.”

In 2026, new and independent Parent and Toddler Groups can receive up to €1,000 in support. Groups connected to larger organisations, whether just starting or already established, are eligible for grants of up to €800.

Groups can also apply for funding to launch Buggy Walking Groups, offering organised social walks for parents and guardians with young children. Grants can cover costs such as snacks, information leaflets, and insurance. Any group, new or existing, planning at least six community walks is welcome to apply. County Childcare Committees will distribute funding to Parent and Toddler Groups nationwide.
