Munster Minor A Camogie Championship Semi-Final
Tipperary 0-6
Limerick 1-9
Tipperary's minor camogie team faltered in the second half to just come up short against a strong and fancied Limerick side in the semi-final of this year's Munster Minor A Camogie Championship.
Coming into the game as underdogs, Tipperary put in a really strong showing for three quarters of the game, but couldn't keep the workrate and control a really well rounded Limerick outfit showed their class in the final quarter.
In patricular, the introduction of young flyer Eve Cleary to proceedings proved to be a big factor as she hit 1-2 from play during her time on the pitch.
U16A champions from 2025, Limerick have a fantastic crop of players coming into this team, and Tippeary can be hugely proud of their efforts in the game, having led 0-5 to 0-4 at the half-time break.
In a game where defences were on top, Tipp were the more clinical team in the opening quarter when they took a 0-3 to 0-1 lead by the 15-minute mark thanks to a free from Abbie Horgan and two fantastic points from play by Alice Butler.
Limerick were hanging in there and they were on the board from a Cathlin Ryan free after four minutes, and the placed ball expert eventually levelled the game by the 21 minute mark with two further placed balls converted.
Far from free flowing, that would be the story of the remainder of the half, as Abbie Horgan hit two frees to Cathlin Ryan's one as the Premier took a narrow one-point lead in at half-time.
However, Limerick set their stall out early in the half and the introduction of Eve Cleary would prove pivotal. But just before her impact, Limerick had already taken the lead with two Cathlin Ryan frees in succession up to the 38th minute putting them 0-6 to 0-5 ahead.
Cleary then picked off her first point in the 42nd minute, with her pace electric in effect, giving a glimpse of what was to come.
Another Ryan free followed suit as Tipperary discipline went to pot, but Cleary struck the decisive score five minutes from time, latching onto a lovely weighted pass inside the 21 before lashing home a low effort to the back of the net.
Tipperary tried to find the goals to bring them back into contention, but the Limerick rearguard wasn't for breaking, as the Treaty held out to set up a Munster final date for themselves in to coming weeks.
