Cabinet to consider plan that would bringing new hope to aspiring homeowners in Tipperary

House price limits differ across the country, and now the Minister is proposing a €35,000 boost for County Tipperary

The Cabinet is set to consider a plan that would raise the maximum house price and income limits for local authority home loans, bringing new hope to aspiring homeowners in County Tipperary. These loans offer a vital lifeline to first-time buyers and those seeking a fresh start on the property ladder.

House price limits differ across the country, and now the Minister is proposing a €35,000 boost for County Tipperary, raising the cap to €310,000. This higher limit would also open doors for buyers in Carlow, Cavan, Donegal, Kerry, Laois, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, and Sligo.

Among the proposed changes is an increase in the income limit for single earners, from €70,000 to €80,000. This shift could open the door to homeownership for more people, particularly in smaller towns and villages beyond the major cities.

A house price limit of €415,000 is expected to be approved for counties in the greater Dublin area. Cork City and County, Galway City, and Meath will have a limit of €375,000. In Clare, Kilkenny, Limerick, Waterford, Westmeath, and Wexford, the new limit will be €345,000.
