Tipperary County Council is expected to issue a decision regarding the application by March 8.
The Board of Management at St Anne's Special School in Roscrea has submitted a planning application for a significant extension to the school.
The proposed single-storey extension, adjacent to the existing school building, will cover 1,362 square metres. The development will add six classrooms, a library, therapy and sensory rooms, expanded support spaces, and a courtyard play area. Additional improvements include a larger boiler room, a sheltered drop-off area, increased parking, an upgraded wastewater system, and other site enhancements. St Anne’s, established in 1971, currently serves 49 pupils and employs 38 staff. According to the applicant, the new set-down area is designed to provide an “accessible, sheltered and comfortable arrival experience” for pupils.
Tipperary County Council is expected to issue a decision regarding the application by March 8.
