Last Friday night saw Templemore Livestock mart hold their AGM in the Templemore Arms.

As part of the night they also made presentations to John Sullivan and Anne Shanahan.

John came from Co. Limerick in 1982 and was initially given a six month trial to see how he would get on. He must have impressed as his tenure was extended by a further thirty-nine and a half years before retiring last September.

Anne Shanahan was already working in the mart by the time John arrived and she continued her office work until 2020.

The untimely intervention of Covid-19 led to the temporary closure of the Mart and it was during this time that Anne decided to take her well-earned retirement.

We wish them both a happy retirement.
