RIP: Search for missing Mayo man stood down following discovery of body

Gardai have confirmed that the missing person appeal for Kevin Durcan has been stood down, after the discovery of a body.

The 41-year-old was reported missing from Ballina, county Mayo over a week ago.

In an update, issued this Friday morning, a garda spokesperson said that "following the discovery of a man’s body the missing person appeal for Kevin Durcan (41), who was reported missing from Ballina, county Mayo since Saturday, November 9, has been stood down".

Gardaí also said they would like to "thank the public and the media for their assistance".
