The man arrested as part of the investigation into a fatal assault in Kildare town on Sunday October 26, 2025, has been released without charge.
Ryan Weir Gibbons, was found unresponsive on McGee Terrace in the town at approximately 3:15am and was subsequently brought to Naas General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

It's understood the young man, who is believed to be from Kildare, was attacked by a group of youths following an incident on a bus earlier in the evening.
Reported in the Irish Mirror last week, it's understood Ryan, aged in his 20s, had politely asked the group of youths on the bus to be quiet.

He was later attacked in Kildare town by what is believed to have been the same group where he sustained serious head injuries.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
