Fianna Fáil TD for North Tipperary and Northwest Kilkenny, Deputy Ryan O’Meara, has welcomed the allocation of €492,595 in capital funding for Nenagh Childcare Centre under the Building Blocks Extension Grant Scheme, a key initiative from the Department of Children aimed at supporting capital investment in childcare facilities.

The funding, announced by Fianna Fáil colleague Minister Norma Foley TD, will enable a significant extension to the existing centre in Nenagh, delivering 27 additional childcare places for families in the area.

“This is a fantastic boost for Nenagh and surrounding communities. The Nenagh Childcare Centre has been doing exceptional work for years, and this investment will allow them to expand their services to meet increasing demand from local families,” said Deputy O’Meara.

“I want to acknowledge Minister Norma Foley’s commitment to strengthening early years services through the Building Blocks Extension Grant Scheme. This is exactly the kind of forward-thinking investment we need to ensure families have access to modern, high-quality childcare in their own communities,” he continued.

The Building Blocks Extension Grant Scheme is designed to support the expansion and enhancement of early learning and childcare infrastructure across the country, ensuring services can respond to the needs of growing populations and provide inclusive, accessible care.

“This is a clear example of Fianna Fáil in government delivering for families and investing in our future. I will continue to advocate for further supports for North Tipperary and Northwest Kilkenny to ensure children, parents, and childcare providers are supported at every level,” Deputy O’Meara concluded.
