Community organisations come together for family event in Tipperary

Community organisations come together for Nenagh family event
The Tipperary Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) coalition held a successful community event on Thursday, 13 August 2026, at Ormond Drive and Ard Crúidín estates in Nenagh.
The coalition is a wide range of locally-based member organisations, including Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB), which worked together to plan and deliver the event. It took place in the green area beside Tyone Community Centre, which acted as the main hub for the day’s activities.
Tipperary County Council and Clúid housing agency were supportive of the event and attended on the day. The activities offered something for everyone in the community. Families, children and local residents enjoyed a wide range of free activities, information stands and entertainment.
This included a food demonstration by Silver Arch Family Resource Centre, food platters and healthy eating information from Safefood and Silver Arch, story time with the Cat in the Hat from Tipperary Libraries, an information stand and art display from Tipperary FET (Further Education and Training) College, blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and information on safe inhaler use from the HSE, sun safety with Health Ireland, and information stands from the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS), Tipperary Civil Defence and Nenagh Community Gardaí.
Further fun activities were also organised for families including face painting by Turas Nua, games provided by Tipperary Sports Partnership, a bubble display by Little Top Stars, music provided by North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC), an ice cream van, a pizza van and a coffee van.
There was excellent engagement from the local community throughout the day. Residents took part in activities, spoke with representatives from different organisations and learned about the services available in their area.
The event also gave organisations a valuable opportunity to work together, share information and build stronger connections. The collaboration between coalition members helped create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
The Community Fun Day showed the value of bringing services and people together in a local setting. It was a positive day of learning, networking and fun, and it helped strengthen links between organisations and the community they serve.
Tipperary Adult Literacy for Life would like to thank all the organisations, volunteers and community members who contributed to the success of the event. Their support and enthusiasm helped make the day a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
