Eamon Maher, from Tipperary, who just celebrated his 70th birthday, died at home on Friday, March 7 and countless tributes have been paid in his honour.
On the days after his funeral, Eamon had four horses running in Cheltenham and with his passion for horses from an early age he was highly regarded among his friends in the equestrian world, both at home and abroad.
He is remembered as a very sociable, charitable and a pleasure to do business with and he made many friends in transporting horses to sales and in attending race meetings.
Eamon was from Freighduff, Ardmayle Road, Cashel and was son of the late Jack and May Maher and brother of Pat Maher in the Boherlahan parish, who was editor of 'Ardmayle a resting place full of memories'.
He was also the nephew of Fr Patrick Maher, Freighduff who served in the Birmingham diocese and who is buried in Ardmayle with his parents.
On Sunday, March 9 his remains were removed from his home to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Boherlahan for requiem mass celebrated by Fr. Michael Mullaney PP, assisted by Fr. Joe Egan, Ballycahill and Fr. Pat Coffey PP Golden.
