Sheila Wade enjoyed a full life for almost 100 years

Rest in Peace

On Saturday, November 18, Sheila Wade née Daly, late of Nodstown, passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff of St Teresa’s Nursing Home, Cashel.

She was just short of that milestone of  100 years.

With the advancement of age, she had made St Teresa’s her new home for the last 10 years, surrounded by care, friendship and security.

Sheila was a quiet and reserved person but active in the community. She was involved in the local ICA along with her neighbours and contemporaries. She had a regular presence at the annual Christmas party over the years where she enjoyed the friendship and festive occasion.

Sheila always took great pride in her deportment, which she carried with her into old age. That lady-like elegance, refinement and finesse were acquired by her in her earlier years while working in the ‘Big House’. With her husband Tommy, she lived for a few years at Thurlesbeg Lodge before taking up permanent residence in Nodstown. Unfortunately Tommy predeceased her over 40 years ago but she was undeterred and lived her life to the full while her independence lasted.

Sheila’s remains were reposed at Devitt’s Funeral Parlour on Sunday evening before removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Boherlahan. Following concelebrated Requiem Mass on Monday by Fr Joe Egan PP, Fr Tom Dunne CC and Fr Jimmy Donnelly PP, she was laid to rest in the Bianconi Cemetery.

She is regretted by her sister-in-law Peggy, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.
