Thurles Golf Club most heartily congratulates our neighbour John Moloughney on his accession to the top position in Munster golf. His services to the game from Junior golf up to the Secretaryship of the Provincial Council have been justly recognised.
The A.G.M. at Mallow on Tuesday night of last week elected John as successor to Liam Martin (Castletroy).
The versatile John is not only a very capable golfer but follows family tradition as a piper and member of the Sean Treacy Pipe Band.
This is a proud distinction for the Templemore club and we join in the pleasure at his achievement. In due course the rotation of the national Presidency will bring him even higher profile in the game.
