Rockwell College’s Junior Cup squad is gearing up for their highly anticipated Munster Junior Cup semi-final against Bandon Grammar next Wednesday, March 5th, at 1:30 PM at Fethard Town Park.

With eyes firmly set on replicating their 2019 success, when they lifted the prestigious trophy, the team is determined to make the former squad, including Brian Gleeson, proud. The work ethic and team-first mentality of the 2019 team continue to inspire the current squad.

Under the expert guidance of Head of Rugby Kevin Leamy and Head Coach Danny Lambe, the team has enjoyed an unbeaten season, most recently securing a dominant 28-11 victory over Castletroy College in the quarter-finals.

A special thanks goes to Coach Steve McMahon, Athletic Development Coach Annie McCarra, S&C Coach Albert Fronek, and Physio Cliona Cotter, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the players remain fit, strong, and injury-free throughout their campaign.

Rockwell will face a tough challenge from Bandon Grammar, who narrowly defeated Pres 27-26 in a thrilling match. Bandon’s impressive performance sets the stage for an exciting and fiercely contested semi-final, one that will certainly keep fans on the edge of their seats.

The squad is made up of players from a range of local clubs, including Cahir, Clonmel, and Waterford City, representing areas from Tipperary Town to Carrick-on-Suir, and Templemore to Killenaule.

This diverse and talented roster reflects the strong rugby culture across the region. This group of players is gaining attention not only locally but also from rugby development programs in Ireland and beyond, further cementing Rockwell's reputation for producing top-tier rugby talent.

With all the ingredients for an exciting match, anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling semi-final in Fethard this Wednesday.

Parents, supporters, and rugby fans alike are eager to see if Rockwell can continue their unbeaten run and take one step closer to another memorable Junior Cup victory.
