Last Thursday evening the Trail Blazers had another well attended walk along the Roscrea Sli na Slainte. Weather on the night was perfect with late evening sunshine and some tea and coffee along the way which gave everyone a chance to discuss the upcoming trip to the Waterford Greenway on September 15th.
Our next evening walk is this Thursday the 6th of September and will be the Mount St Joseph’s Loop. This is a 7km flat walk through the grounds of the Abbey. Meeting at Rosemary Square at 7pm or the main gate carpark at 7.10pm. Please bring head/hand torch and hi viz jacket. Well done to everyone that turned up for our walk last Saturday to Lough Curra at the Galty’s.
Another hike that was made all the better with great company and great weather. Places are filling up fast for out trip to the Waterford Greenway where you will be given the chance to walk or cycle the first 23km from Dungarvan to Kilmcthomas.The Trail Blazers website www.roscreatrailblazers.com is up and running with a list of 13 day trips over the coming months and we encourage you to give it a look and see what the group Future planned day trips. 1. Portumna Forest park. 2. The Knocknaroe Loop. 3. Lough Curra at the foot of The Galtys. 4. The Grange Loop on the Kilkenny border. 5. Croagh Patrick in Mayo. 6. Lough Bray Upper and Lower, Glendalough, and a return to Lough Dan in Wicklow to name but a few. A map reading and GPS training course in is also on the cards.
