Tipperary has the lowest salary requirements in Munster for single first-time buyers

New figures show that Tipperary has the lowest salary requirements in Munster for first-time buyers, however in the Premier county a single person still needs to be on €67,065 to buy a typical first home.

This is significantly more than the county’s median income of €41,338 meaning a gap of over €25,000 between what people have, and what they need. However, for those that want to stay near home at least Tipperary is among the most affordable counties to live.

Unsurprisingly, the most expensive place to buy is Dublin where one person would need to earn €108,000 a year, but both Kildare and Wicklow would also require a six-figure salary; the most affordable is Longford, where someone on €48,000 might manage to put a roof over their head on their own.

The data was complied and released by the insurance company Chill.ie.
