Peake Villa 13 – 1 Wilderness Rovers
This game was all one-way traffic for the home side who definitely had their shooting boots on at Sunday lunch time in the Tower Grounds in Thurles. On the day they entertained an under strength Wilderness Rovers side and the points were secured within the first ten minutes of the game with goals from Ronan McGuire, Kieren Hennessy and Keith Cahill.
Darragh Byrne scored in the 15th minute to make it 4-0, before McGuire and Byrne added another two goals, before the game had reached the half hour mark.
Kieren Hennessy then got his second in and Ronan Maguire secured his hat-trick from the penalty spot four minutes before half time and then Keith Cahill added his second right on half time to make it 9-0 at the break.
The second half saw the Thurles aide add another four goals with Cahill and Hennessy also scoring three goals each. Ronan McGuire scored two more to bring his total to five on the day, before Wilderness Rovers scored late on from a very good free kick taken by Cian Cullinane.
