High School CBS Fifth Year student Matthew Ryan is the recipient of this year’s Clonmel RFC Camida Youth Academy Scholarship. He will spend ten days at a rugby camp in Soustons near Biarritz in June, when he will receive professional rugby coaching and an immersive cultural experience.
Matthew hails from Ballymacarbry and is the son of Geraldine and Andrew Ryan. He plays on the High School senior rugby team and is also a member of Clonmel RFC’s Under 18.5 team.
Matthew was presented with his scholarship by Deirdre McGrath and Claire Lambert of Camida at the school awards ceremony. We wish Matthew a very enjoyable trip. Bon voyage!

We presented Player of the Year trophies at our school awards ceremony on Friday.
U14 Award Winners

Most Improved Player of the Year: Aidan Gaffey.
U15 Award Winners
Players’ Player of the Year: Alex Pyke.
Player of the Year: Conall Morrisson.
Most Improved Player of the Year: Darragh Dempsey.
U16 Award Winners
Players’ Player of the Year: PJ Walsh.
Player of the Year: Anthony Fitzgerald.
Most Improved Player of the Year: David Ryan.
U19 Award Winners
Players’ Player of the Year: Alex Slattery.
Player of the Year: Davy Brennan.
Most Improved Player of the Year: Daniel Buckley.
Well done to all the boys who received awards, nominated by their teammates and coaches.
