Stage is set for another great Barbecue meeting at Clonmel Races

Clonmel Races

There are seven races on the card for the Barbecue meeting at Clonmel Races on Friday June 8, with the first going to post at 5.15

One of the big events of the year at Clonmel Racecourse, the Summer Barbecue meeting, takes place on Friday evening, June 8.

The first race will go to post at 5.15 and the seven-race card includes the John Kennedy Motors (Toyota) Clonmel Beginners Chase and the Orchard Thieves Handicap Hurdle.

There's a prize value of €500 for both the Best Dressed Lady and the Most Appropriately Dressed Gent in the Orchard Thieves Style Awards, the judges for which are Dayl Cronin (above), of Hometown and Dancing With The Stars fame, and Laura Durkan, Tipperary's representative in the Rose of Tralee.

The all-in barbecue tickets, which cost €25 and must be pre-purchased, represent fantastic value as they include admission, a racecard, a barbecue meal, a €5 Tote bet and a complimentary bottle of Orchard Thieves cider.

The band Legends will also be performing to add to the entertainment.

This meeting at the picturesque setting of Powerstown Park is always one of the social highlights of the year in Clonmel, and another great night is anticipated.
