Templemore Active Retired Club outing to Co. Cork a great success

Templemore Active Retired Club outing to Co. Cork was a great success

Templemore Active Retired Club had a wonderful outing in Co. Cork recently

Members of the Templemore Active Retirement left the Templemore Arms by bus on Tuesday 10th April on their journey to the beautiful town of Kinsale for their Spring Break.
First stop was for refreshments in Mitchelstown. A town that is not visited much now due to the M8 bypassing it. It brought back many memories of the tail backs and traffic jams, but all that is now in the past. The group were heading for the beautiful town of Kinsale.
Having arrived at their destination, the afternoon was free to investigate this lovely harbour town. Plenty of entertainment was in place after dinner in Acton’s Hotel where they lay their heads to rest.
Next day the tracks of Michael Collins were pursued, including a visit to the ‘Michael Collins Experience’ for storytelling and a presentation of the local history by one of his relations. Clonakilty town was next on the list to be explored, and some retail therapy was the order of the evening. But alas that wasn’t quite enough as there was some more therapy again in Cork City while some visited places of historical interest. 0n Friday morning we said farewell to Kinsale and headed for Blarney. It’s reported that some kissed the famous stone - possibly not for the first time!
Errol the driver brought the group back safe and sound to Templemore.
